PowerPoint has dramatically changed the face of many businesses, organizations and presentations over the years. This article focuses on some tips on making PowerPoint presentations visually attractive as well as what tips to keep in mind when preparing presentations.

Types of Images to Use

When preparing a PowerPoint presentation, it is best to use photographs that reflect your subject. However, you want to avoid using large-scale pictures that appear cheap. High-quality photographs are more likely to appear clear, crisp, and professional. Choose a photo that is at least comparable in resolution (dpi). Resize your image by dragging the corner slider and ensure that you keep the same aspect ratio. To ensure that you always use the same size for all images, set the scaling style to 1:1. Never add guides or vertical lines to the photo. Keep the guides on or, if placed vertically, at an angle.

Uploading PowerPoint Files

With Office PowerPoint 2007, you can’t just have your PowerPoint presentation on your computer. You should be able to send the file to users who are on a different computer or device. Save a copy of the presentation to your hard drive, and upload the file by going to File > Save As > PowerPoint Version. Use the file name you saved and don’t change anything except the file name. Never include columns or images that you don’t want to appear on the slide. If you want to remove content from a slide, right-click the slide and choose Match Case. If you want to put content on a slide, drag the slide slightly until the pointer is off the beginning edge of the slide. You can alsobangin theTipondirectly after the pointer left. The standard method of connecting the computer to a phone is by using the Phone Auto captivate function. PowerPoint 2007 does not come with this already built in, so you will need to go out and download it. Once it is installed, every time you connect to your computer, the phone will go through a short setup process where you are prompted to put in the phone number and other contact information. After that, all you have to do is type in your Contact information, click the button that says “Connect,” and it will automatically connect to your computer without you needing to type in the information.

If you use PowerPoint 2007, expect it to load much faster. Not only does this mean that the video player will load faster, PowerPoint 2007 will also load a lot faster. In fact, after you watch a presentation, you may even be able to play it back while you are doing other things. Furthermore, the new Media Center allows you to watch the presentation on your TV. This way, you can overhead TV and still peripheral itself to your TV or monitor and still watch your presentation.

PowerPoint 2007 is a very heavy program. It’s particularly important that you use it only for presentations and not for other tasks such as wrenching orcleaning out your email orWhatever else you do on it PowerPoint.

Therefore, what I do is install the software, learn some tips and tricks, and then when my computer is turned on, I turn it on and I am good to go. If I need to do something else because of the requirement of the presentation, I just shut it down and wait for the computer to turn back on.
